With three medications in its portfolio, Alkermes operates its brand websites tied to over $700 million in revenue. Historically those sites were managed almost entirely by external agencies. The pharmaceutical company wanted to bring more control in house, but the internal systems and processes didn’t exist yet.
I led the implementation of a new design system initially built for a single website to expand across the Alkermes portfolio to all brands: ARISTADA, LYBALVI, and VIVITROL.. Understanding design from end to end was crucial to putting enterprise-level processes into place that work for all partners from legal to external agencies to development to brand.

I led the development of a standardized design framework and partnered with project management to introduce an agile workflow that improved how design, development, and review cycles worked together. That change significantly reduced the back-and-forth that had been slowing releases and pushing out go-live dates.
During these work cycles, I brought stakeholders along by communicating the benefits and power of our design system as it matured. This secured buy-ins for key process changes across the company.
Beyond platform integration, I also identified major areas of accessibility improvement that the agency partners missed. With my expertise, I raised the accessibility scores for 3 sites an average of 20% and brought 2 out of non-compliance.

Those sites now operate on a standardized platform with documented workflows guiding all future migrations and updates, creating a scalable system supporting digital properties tied to more than $700 million in revenue. Alkermes customers and patients enjoy a more cohesive digital experience that performs better across responsive environment .
